Fairy Treehouse by the Sea

A treehouse straight from childhood dreams, hidden away on an island in the Puget Sound. Our wonderful clients wanted to create a magical fairy treehouse for their grandchildren, an escape into imagination. Perched high in a towering Douglas Fir, this whimsical retreat has everything kids dream of: a drawbridge, fireman’s pole, trap door, net hangout, cozy beds, and even sea views where whales pass by.

Fairy Treehouse by the Sea

A Storybook Welcome

A long bridge lined with cedar branches welcomes guests of all ages to the arched entry.

The breathtaking front door was custom crafted in our prefab shop by one of our talented carpenters.

The exterior is clad in salvaged Western Red Cedar board-and-batten with cedar shingles below, giving the treehouse its rustic charm.

Two front-facing windows showcase artistic tree-framed windows, glowing in the light.

Magic Inside the Canopy

Step inside and you’re surrounded by the magic of the trees. A circular window frames the massive trunk, bringing the outdoors in. On the main floor, there’s a cozy seating area for drawing, board games, or snack time.

The treehouse is designed as a three-season space, with exposed framing and little surprises, tiny trinkets and hidden fairies tucked throughout.

A Nook for Daydreams

One of the highlights is the keyhole doorway, which frames a snug sleeping nook.

From here, you can gaze out a circular cedar-framed window shaped like a tree, with sea views beyond.

It’s the perfect place to drift off while listening to the branches sway and waves lap the shoreline.

The Loft: Play and Wonder

Climb the custom ship’s ladder to reach the loft, where two separate sleeping and play spaces are connected by a net for lounging and daydreaming.

Skylights above open to let in fresh canopy air and starlight at night.

Views from the Deck

Back on the main level, a deck offers both tree and sea views.

While building, our crew was lucky enough to spot whales passing by, proof that this treehouse truly lives in harmony with its surroundings.

Adventure Below

The adventure continues below, where a trap door leads to a lower landing.

Here, kids can make a quick getaway down the fireman’s pole or lift the drawbridge to keep out unwanted imaginary intruders to their fairy hideaway.

Built for a Lifetime of Memories

It was such a joy to bring this magical fairy treehouse to life for our clients and their grandchildren. We know it will be a place of endless adventures, daydreams, and cherished memories for years to come.
