We are hiring TRAVELING CARPENTERS

Traveling Carpenter Position

Are you an experienced carpenter ready to take it "To The Trees!"? The treehouse business is booming and we are looking to add team members to our traveling carpenter roster! We are seeking experienced craftspeople.

We are a boutique treehouse construction company specializing in luxury treehouses and elevated structures for private use and vacation rentals. We design and build custom, high-end accommodations. Our projects range from elevated and platform dwellings to fully integrated treehouse resorts, all built with meticulous attention to detail, structural integrity, and aesthetic appeal.

Qualifications:

    • Strong carpentry skills with an emphasis on framing and finish.
    • Open to traveling to job sites for 6 week on - 2 week off periods consistently throughout the year.
    • Hard worker willing to work 50+ hour weeks (with great overtime pay!) while working on site.
    • Open to learning best practices for working in the trees.
    • Genuinely enjoys working with a team.
    • Love of the outdoors - this job involves LOTS of fresh air and we typically work in all weather conditions (unless dangerous, of course!)
    • Positive Attitude

Compensation and Benefits

    • Competitive pay based on experience (with lots of overtime opportunity while traveling).
    • Paid time off.
    • 401K retirement plan.
    • Health benefits for a full time position.
    • Positive work environment with opportunity for growth and new experiences.
    • Great co-workers!

We are offering a paid six-week trial/evaluation period for this position. This period is fully compensated at $30.00 per hour and provides you with the opportunity to experience the role firsthand while we assess the fit from both sides. After the first two weeks on site, you will receive a performance evaluation and feedback from the site lead. We will focus on evaluating your skills and how you work within our team dynamics throughout this trial period. At the conclusion of the six-week trial period, we (site lead and management) will conduct a mutual assessment to determine if there is a strong fit. If so, we will establish where you fit into our carpenter pay scale and extend a permanent offer at that rate. All candidates will be required to pass a background check before a final offer is extended.

Beyond your professional qualifications, we'd like to get to know you as a person. Please share a brief paragraph about what energizes you outside of work, any passion projects you pursue, or what you value most in your ideal work environment. This helps us understand how your interests relate to transferable skills like teamwork or problem-solving.

Please send your resume, cover letter and portfolio to jobs@nelsontreehouseandsupply.com. Bonus points: describe your dream treehouse!
